In another life I used to have time to muck about with a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder and various MIDI instruments, guitars, an Atari ST, and a homebrew MIDI drum machine programmed on my BBC micro. Here are three tracks produced in my 'studio'.
Jon Poljor Jandringo made a seminal recording in the sixties, when stereo was in its infancy and was therefore used in a rather primitive way. By mixing the left channel with the inverse of the right, it's possible to null out the instrumental parts and leave just the vocals, which formed the basic samples for this track. You may recognise it. For copyright reasons I've only uploaded a low quality 32Kbps version.
This one is based on some samples from a Star Trek movie. No prizes for working out which one, other than a sense of smug and slightly nerdy satisfaction.
I gotta fuzz box and I ain't afraid to use it.
